Registered Yoga School in Colorado Springs.

Non-Contact Hours:
All outside resources should be thoughtfully chosen to support the training and be relevant to yoga and/or anatomy and physiology. Non-contact hours must be an assigned part of the curriculum and may include:

 

    • Teaching a class outside of the training program.
    • Reading, Audio/Video, Internet that incorporate an assessment including reports, class discussions, presentations or tests
    • Written Assignments on yoga-related topics; may be counted for all categories except Practicum
    • Group Activities including directed discussion, techniques practice or teaching practice
    • Evaluation of Yoga Classesoutside of the program; each class must be evaluated via a written or oral exercise and may count for up to two hours of credit towards Techniques, Teaching Methodology or Practicum categories

Certification

           

The Pranava Yoga Center Teacher Training School is a Registered School with Yoga Alliance 200 & 500 Hr RYS Programs.

Upon completion of the program students will receive a Certificate of Completion
and can apply for registration with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher at the 500-hour level (RYT 500).

 

Sample Daily Schedule


1 Weekend and 1 Wednesday per month for 10 months

12 Hours on Saturday (approx. 8am-8pm approx.)
6 Hours on Sunday (approx. 8am-6pm approx.)
3.5-4 Hours on Wednesday (approx.5pm-9pm approx.)
22.5 - 24.5 Hrs Per Week (approx.)
8:00 – 9:00am (.5 hrs) Daily Meditation
9:00 - 9:30am (.5 hrs) Daily Pranayama
9:30 – 11:30 (2 hrs) Daily Asana
11:30 – 12:30pm (1 hr) Lunch
12:30 – 2:00pm (1 hrs) Asana Focus: Inversions
2:00 – 4:00pm (2 hr) Anatomy
4:00 – 5:00pm (1 hrs) Using Props
5:00 – 6:00pm (1 hrs) Bandhas  
6:00 – 7:00pm (2 hr) Sanskrit/English Names of Asana
7:00 – 8:00pm (1 hrs) Asana Focus on Forward Bends/Variations and Modification

Prerequisites for PYC Teacher Traininig

  • 1) Must be registered Yoga Alliance RYT- 200
  • 2) Must have experience in teaching in a public class.
  • 3) Book Report
    Your report should be submitted along with the application and must be:

(We will give a list of books in the application package)

            • Length: 1000 words minimum, 2000 maximum
            • Print on plain 8.5 x 11 paper
            • Include your name on the top of each page
            • Please retain a copy for your own records
  • 4) Teacher Training Catalog

    This form is a requirement of Pranava Yoga Center and the Yoga Alliance certification. It calls your attention to

important ethical considerations in the teaching of yoga and asks for your pledge to act correctly and responsibly.
