What happened to the 500 hour training program?

Yoga Alliance simply changed their names for training certifications. The previously-named 500 hour program is the same as the newly-named 300 hour program. When you become 200-hour certified, then 300-hour certified, it all adds up to 500 hours of training time.

For more information, visit Yoga Alliance.

How proficient do I have to be in yoga to join the program?

We strongly recommend that applicants have one year of consistent asana practice. Trainees should have a solid foundation of understanding of the basic and fundamental yoga postures. Keep in mind this program is not only for aspiring teachers but also for people who want to deepen their practice and expand their yogic knowledge.

How many people are in the training program, and who are these people who sign up?

We typically have between 10 and 20 people in each training program. Students are men and women of all shapes, sizes, and ages (over 16).

I don't live in Colorado Springs. Is there housing or places to stay near PYC?

Yes, there are many options. PYC is centrally located. If you need more information, please contact us. We will be more than happy to provide you with some suggestions.

What if I have to miss a weekend of the training?

The program requires that you obtain the full allocation of training hours. The weekends are intensive and we feel that it is imperative that all weekends are attended. However, if you must miss a day or a weekend, there will be alternative homework given.

Do you offer a shortened intensive teacher training program?

Nope. It is not possible to learn how to appropriately and effectively teach yoga in only one week. Our intention is not to fast-track you to a certification, rather it is to grow your mind, body, and spirit.
